Our data-rich repository of anonymized HRCT scans and clinical information regarding interstitial lung diseases (ILDs) is the first-of-its-kind. It’s the world’s largest and most diverse database for ILDs, with a plethora of real world clinical and imaging data that is both multi-ethnic and multi-center. It currently houses over 1,500 anonymized and quality-controlled scans with accompanying data, and has an additional 5,000 already in the quality control queue, to launch by Q4. We have commitments for an additional 3,500 scans to be added in Q1 2022. It is our belief that this diverse, multi-center database could be the start of finding digital imaging biomarkers that could potentially speed up diagnosis, and aid in better understanding of individual patient prognosis and response to therapy.

During the three years of the build, there was much debate, many hurdles and a lot of back and forth, but our singular focus was never wavered. It has always been, and will always be, on the patients. In that spirit, earlier today we gave patients a virtual sneak peek of the repository FIRST, before we announced it to the rest of the world. We talked them through what we did and how we did it, and reminded them that everything we do is with them in mind.
