OSIC sponsored an engaging Industry Theater presentation at the ATS 2024 Conference that was open to all attendees.
Despite rapid developments in advanced medical imaging analysis, a major obstacle to harnessing this technology to study ILDs is the lack of large, diverse imaging repositories needed for machine learning and an ecosystem that discourages data sharing. OSIC addresses these unmet needs by providing researchers with the image AND clinical data needed to develop AI-based applications to improve patient care and facilitate precision medicine for those with rare lung diseases.
Dr. Kevin Brown and Dr. Simon Walsh discussed recent developments in machine learning algorithms using the OSIC Cloud Data Repository, including advanced bronchial and vascular phenotyping, quantification, and new progression and mortality prediction models. There was also an update about the inclusion and importance of lung cancer screening scans for ILA identification, earlier diagnosis, and potential progression.
The new OSIC Cloud was available for demonstration.
