Radiology Leads, OSIC Core Science Leadership Team

The Open Source Imaging Consortium (OSIC) is actively seeking Radiology Leads to join our Core Science Leadership Team. The newly-appointed radiology experts will join OSIC Pulmonology Lead Dr. Devin Brown (National Jewish Health) and OSIC Computational Lead Professor David Barber (University College London) in collaboration with a diverse team of expert members to tackle the challenges of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and other interstitial lung diseases (ILDs), and the technology needed to make progress.

OSIC Background and Overview

OSIC — a global 501(c)(3), not-for-profit cooperative effort between academia, industry and patient advocacy groups — was created to look at lung diseases differently, and to drive collaboration between unlikely partners. Our goal is to make rapid advances in the detection and diagnosis of IPF and other ILDs for the countless patients and their caregivers living with these diseases.

To accomplish this goal, OSIC brought together the best and brightest radiologists, clinicians, computational scientists, and industry competitors from around the world to help make progress in ways that hadn’t yet been considered. We built the OSIC Cloud Data Repository, the world’s largest and most diverse global data repository for ILDs, with more than 20,000 anonymized HRCT scans and accompanying clinical data committed to date from multiple institutions and databases. Through the use of digital imaging and machine learning (ML), OSIC members are utilizing this first-of-its-kind, curated database to help clinicians speed diagnosis, aid prognosis, and treat patients living with these diseases more efficiently and effectively.

We invite passionate individuals committed to contributing to this cause to apply.
